Research Interests and Achievements:

My research focuses on the molecular mechanisms underlying Moso bamboo's rapid growth, transposable element (TE) function, and abiotic stress tolerance. I investigate the genetic, epigenetic (DNA methylation, RNA modifications), and physiological factors contributing to Moso bamboo's exceptional growth and environmental adaptation, with implications for carbon sequestration, sustainable forestry, and horticultural development. My work integrates plant molecular biology, next-generation sequencing (NGS), TE biology, and bamboo genetic transformation. Current projects utilize physiological, cytological, transcriptomic, genomic, epigenomic (DNA methylation), and epitranscriptomic datasets to investigate culm neck and culm developmental transitions during rapid growth, and the role of nuclear export signal (NES) domains in bamboo Mariner-like element (MLE) TEs.

Over seven years, I have authored or co-authored nearly 97 peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals, including Plant Cell, Plant Biotechnology Journal, New Phytologist, Horticulture Research, Journal of Advanced Research, Tree Physiology, Plant Cell Reports, Plant Science, Food and Energy Security, Mobile DNA, BMC Plant Biology, International Journal of Molecular Sciences (IJMS), Science of the Total Environment, Chemosphere, Frontiers in Plant Science, Forests, PLoS ONE, Tissue and Organ Culture, Applied Sciences, and Ecotoxicology and Environmental Safety, along with three book chapters.

As of February 2025, these publications have garnered over 6,000 citations (H-index: 31). I am actively involved in international collaborations, presenting at numerous conferences and symposia, and serving on advisory committees. My work has been recognized through prestigious fellowships, awards, and research grants, including the Young Foreign Talent Program (Ministry of Science and Technology, China).

I also serve as an Associate Editor and/or Guest Editor for Frontiers in Plant Science, Heliyon, Genes & Genomics, Plants, and Discover Biotechnology, and contribute as a reviewer to numerous leading journals in plant molecular biology and forestry, including Journal of Advanced Research, Genome Biology, Plant Cell and Environment, Computational and Structural Biotechnology Journal, Plant Science, Frontiers in Plant Science, BMC Plant Biology, BMC Genomics, Industrial Crops and Products, PLoS ONE, Forests, Journal of Plant Growth Regulation, Journal of Herbal Medicine, SN Applied Sciences, and Saudi Journal of Biological Sciences.

My contributions to the field have been recognized through inclusion in the top 2% of scientists globally by Elsevier and Stanford University (2024).
